A shallow 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit Balochistan on 7 October 2021 around 3:02 AM. The strong jolts brought the houses down, damaged roads and bridges. Scores of people died and were injured as the roofs caved in, most gravely affecting Harnai district 100 km (60miles) east of provincial capital, Quetta. Women and children are reported more in numbers among the dead.
Rescue teams are working in area and providing early relief items but people are in dire need of shelter. Human Development Foundation (HDF) is among the Organizations that always responded to the emergencies and in this hour of need is not behind to help people in distraught. HDF plans to give people shelter who have lost their only place called “Home”.

OUR HISTORY IN DISASTER RESPONSE
HDF remained involved in early disaster response in 2005 earthquake and responded with 1000 Alaska structures, 550 tents & 4000 blankets, distributed over 18 tons of food and established 100 sanitation and kitchen units for deserving families. Not only in disaster but also provided basic units for people living in makeshifts and developed model villages in Mardan, Rahim Yar Khan and Tando Muhammad Khan.
