Dr. M Khalid Riaz is a founding chair of HDF and Chairperson of HDF Pakistan. He also currently serves on the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors HDF North America (HDFNA) where he served as Co-Chair from 1997 – 2007.

He has spoken around the world about the Human Development Model including being a keynote speaker at the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists and has been recognized in a Georgetown University publication as one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World for his work in developing and nurturing this movement.

Dr. Riaz is a practising interventional cardiologist and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Chest Physicians. He has served as President Medical Staff and Chair of the Cardiovascular Division at Sherman Hospital where the department earned a platinum rating from the American College of Cardiology. He has also been recognized as one of the Top Doctors in Chicago by Chicago Magazine and one of the Top Doctors in the US by USA Today.

He has also served as President of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA), Co-Founder Pakistan Political Action Committee (PakPac) and Member Board of Advisors at the American Pakistan Foundation.

Dr. Riaz has published numerous academic publications and his achievements have been highlighted through multiple awards.
