HDF – fulfilling shattered dreams
Asma Bibi is a resident of a small village called Basti Khando in District Rahim Yar Khan. She belongs to a middle-class family and has six sisters and six brothers. Asma was dropped out from grade 8th as her family was unable to bear her educational expenses as they have been struggling to earn bread and butter for their large family. She always had a dream to complete her education and do her Masters but nobody supported her to fulfil her dream. While doing household chores, she has always been thinking of how she can fulfil her dream to complete her education and become a working professional one day to support her family financially. Promoting quality education for all children, ensuring girls realize their full potential is what HDF’s Education & Literacy Program works for. HDF team members identified Asma and came to know about her unfulfilled dream of attaining education. Asma was readmitted in 9th grade after 7 long years. She had successfully passed her 9th grade Board Exams and secured 426/505 marks. She is now is doing her Matriculation from HDF Secondary School Basti Khando. “I have been able to cope with the long gap in my studies with relentless support of HDF teachers” says Asma. The Head Teacher has been motivating me along with other teachers to study in the English medium school and have been very supportive all along.
“I am grateful to HDF for fulfilling my dream of acquiring education, thank you HDF.” – Asma Bibi
