Enabling behavior change and building resilience
against disease and mortality through
preventive and therapeutic services

Primary Healthcare is a significant program of HDF. It focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles and providing preventive and curative health services to vulnerable and needy populations. We endeavor to maintain healthy communities through our primary preventive and curative healthcare activities with special emphasis on the well-being of mothers and children. Our Community Health Centers (CHCs) provide basic health facilities to marginalized communities and raise awareness about personal hygiene as well as communicable and non-communicable diseases. HDF ensures these health services are accessible, affordable and integrated into the holistic development process.

Sustainable Development Goal 5

  • Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

Sustainable Development Goal 3

  • Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

A team of trained professionals comprising of a doctor, Lady Health Visitors (LHVs), Dispenser and Community Health Workers (CHWs) raise awareness on health issues and deliver healthcare in all our regional offices. The CHCs have basic lab test arrangements and provide health services to the whole community. However, our focus remains on family planning, immunization, antenatal and postnatal services to women.

Our teams also educate the community on healthcare issues through seminars and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) workshops. Our CHWs provide door to door preventive services by developing a better understanding of health matters and refer to CHCs whenever necessary. The health teams at CHCs provide curative services to the community. The health teams also provide healthcare in the form of medical camps and mobile health services on need basis for remote communities.
