May 1, 2020BlogInspirational Stories

Each and every one of us has a story of our struggles. -A struggle that make us an exemplary for the rest. A struggle rich with varying shades of characters, events, gains and losses. The following account of Saba Adam’s story is penned with the intention to let the readers know, how, if we remain true to our cause, we can spin the fortune of our lives.

Saba Adam, a resident of Kachhi Ittehad,Karachi owes her remarkable improvement in her financial and educational status to HDF. Not only her but her entire family has benefitted with the Human Development Programs of HDF. It was in that life-changing year, that providence brought HDF to Saba’s village where they invested their time, money, and human resources, and paved the road for Saba to fulfill her destiny. Saba’s first encounter with HDF was in 2005, where she joined one of the vocational courses called “Basic Garment Stitching” offered by HDF at Kacchi Ittehad. After completing that course she enrolled herself in another course by HDF that trained her for the Basic Salon Services. These courses by HDF served as an opportunity to employ her skills and improve her family’s living standards. Owing to her skills, she began to earn one thousand rupees a day by providing make-up services to people at their homes. It should also be acknowledged, that while working effortlessly as a beautician to improve her financial status, she also acquired the basic computer skills in yet another course, arranged by HDF; and dexterously employed them in her research work for both of her Master degrees in Political Science and Education. Later in 2007, Saba’s mother, who was completely uneducated, enrolled for the Adult Education Course of HDF in 2007, and was rewarded with the abilities of reading and writing Urdu that has served her in numerous ways. Saba Adam is currently working as a Principal at HDF Manzar Family Fund Secondary School – MFF and is immensely proud to be serving the same institute, which once guided her to this point and time, which changed her life tremendously. She proudly serves as a Principal and a mentor and is brightening the lives of her students by her own knowledge and experience.

She owes all her success to HDF that according to her has helped her to break free from the shackles of poverty that her family had been bearing from generations.
