Seeds of Hope –Naila Bibi
When Naila Bibi turned 20, she was married by her parents in village named Pind Mistarian located in the periphery of Islamabad. Pindi Mistarian is amongst one of the villages where HDF program of Primary Healthcare is being implemented since 2002. Naila conceived for the first time after few months in her marriage. Naila was malnourished and felt weak which led to an abortion just after two months of conception. After three months of this loss, Naila conceived again, but sadly went through a second abortion.
During the regular visits of HDF’s Community Health Workers at Pindi Mistrian, the team had met Naila. After having a conversation with her regarding her history of abortions, LHW registered her for the HDF’s Health Program and referred her to HDF’s Community Health Centre (CHC). Doctors at HDF Health Centre not only recommended medicines but also counseled and consoled her for emotional and psychological support.
She was able to conceive again after a few weeks. HDF’s Health Staff had regular checkups and follow-ups of Naila throughout her pregnancy period and also held counseling sessions with her and other family members. She was regularly monitored, treated and counseled by the HDF Health Staff. She gave birth to a healthy child in 2019 and was extremely delighted and thankful to the Primary Health care Team of HDF.
